This must have come as a surprise to most of you like it did for us. Yet… They did it!
Twitter did away with the old “Favorites” star (✮) symbol and replaced it with the new heart symbol (♥). We never guessed that Twitter had such a plan nor was there any talk among users asking for the change.

Starting today, they will no longer be called “Favorites“, but “Likes” as in Facebook. Twitter believes that the new symbol will allow for representing a wider range of emotions.
On its official blog, the famous microblogging company said that they set the new symbol as a common language for all their channels like Periscope and Vine.
